Why You Should Join the Teller County Short-Term Rental Alliance (TCSTRA) Today
Together, we are building a fair, responsible, and sustainable short-term rental community in Teller County.
SRO = Self-Regulating Organization
An SRO is an industry-led association that:
- Sets standards of conduct for its members
- Monitors compliance with those standards
- Provides education and training
- Acts as the voice of the industry with government and the public
In simple terms: We regulate ourselves before someone else does it for us.
Short-term rentals are under increasing scrutiny across Colorado. Without a unified voice, rules and restrictions can be shaped without input from owners.
- We take responsibility for fair, respectful STR practices
- We are organized, informed, and accountable
- We want to be partners, not opponents
- Credibility: County officials see you as part of a professional, proactive community
- Influence: The BOCC (Board of County Commissioners) listens to organized groups
- Prevention: By setting our own standards, we preempt one-size-fits-all restrictions
- Fairness: Members in good standing can show compliance when renewing STR licenses
- Paying dues (sustains the Alliance)
- Following the Code of Conduct (noise, safety, occupancy, etc.)
- Participating in training or community discussions
- Accepting peer accountability when issues arise
We police our own ranks so regulators don’t have to.
- Help define TCSTRA’s standards and best practices
- Have a seat at the table as Teller County updates STR regulations
- Be ready if licensing rules ever require SRO membership — you’ll already be ahead
Members can join committees, attend meetings, and share input on organizational initiatives. For general inquiries, email leadership@tcstra.com. For membership-related questions, contact membership@tcstra.com.
